An immersive coding bootcamp, taught by women for women.
Launch Academy is proud to announce Prism Shift, an immersive women-only coding bootcamp in Washington, D.C. Opening this fall, Prism Shift aims to nurture and foster the careers of awesome women developers, one cohort at a time.
A place to challenge the status quo.
Launch Academy says Prism Shift is so much more than a coding bootcamp: It’s a communal hub of passionate individuals working collectively toward an equitable future for all. A place where women—including trans, genderqueer, and non-binary people who primarily identify as women—can learn to code in a nurturing and inspiring environment.
A hub for aspiring women developers to build a supportive network.
And a place where, over time, Prism Shift students, staff, alumni, and hiring partners work together to build a tech industry that’s more inclusive, representative, and participatory—one that’s ready to solve our most pressing social challenges.
A launchpad for new careers.
Building on four years of insights and learnings from Launch Academy curriculum, Prism Shift teaches women to code in 18 weeks: Students participate in eight weeks remote pre-learning on a part-time basis, followed by 10 weeks full time on campus. In addition to coding curriculum, Prism Shift students receive career services prep including public speaking and presentation skills, networking opportunities, and resume/portfolio critiques.
And just like at Launch Academy, every Prism Shift alumnae has lifetime access to postgraduate support. Whether looking for a first job right after graduation or aiming for a promotion five years down the road, Prism Shift students are welcome to bring their resume/cover letter for feedback from career services staff, get code review if needed, or chat about career plans. (Once a Prism Shifter, always a Prism Shifter!)
If you’re looking to change careers, want to learn more about coding, and are passionate about contributing to a strong future for women in tech, Prism Shift may be a great next step for you.
Together, the Prism Shift community will continue working for greater equity in tech—because together we can do more than we ever could alone.
